Operating as a not-for-profit organisation, MTONZ is being driven by industry support to help grow the trade and ensure the industry’s progression well into the future. The CNC machining industry is currently experiencing an unsustainable skills shortage, and companies are feeling the pressure to find staff and ensure they are trained to a high level. That’s why we need to come together to fix the problem.

MTONZ operates via membership structure for companies wanting to get involved and support this program and the future of the CNC machining industry.

MTONZ Members benefit from the following:

MTONZ will work to link up local schools up with our member’s companies, MTONZ will assist with workshop tours with the view to this opening the door to work experience and apprenticeship opportunities.

Company promotion through careers days, expos, digital marketing. Our aim is to promote machining, promote the industries where students have interests and then guide potential apprentices to companies that match their passions.

Help with training when required for apprentices, and to upskill current staff or new employees. All members will receive 16hours free training on any areas that they require assistance with, for example, MTONZ can train new starters on mechanical aptitude with quality equipment.
